It’s perfectly safe and recommended that pregnant women receive regular dental care during pregnancy. If you are early along, make sure your dentist is aware you’re pregnant so they can avoid X-Rays. Other than that, your dentist will proceed as usual during your appointment. You can actually have many procedures still done through your 6th month, but reschedule anything major for right after your baby is born. It’s also a good idea to check your insurance and see if theres a provision for extra cleanings during pregnancy. Some of the usual side effects you’ll see right away are puffier and more sensitive teeth, so visiting your dentist will ensure they are overseeing and oral changes that may occur.
