3. Say It Once, and Mean It
Most of the time when you yell, it’s out of frustration because your kids didn’t listen to you the first or fiftieth time. Instead of repeating the command over and over, say it one time. If your kids don’t obey, punish them. Then ask them again to do as you say, and if they don’t do it- punish again. As a parent, you shouldn’t have to ask your kids more than one time to obey, that’s their job. Constantly repeating yourself sends a message that they can obey you whenever they see fit, and that’s just not true.
