5. If You are Sick, Even the Smallest Bit, STAY HOME
I seriously cannot stress this one key point enough. Newborn babies have almost none or an entirely suppressed immune system that requires adequate time to develop in the outside womb world. And a newborn baby that catches any type of illness could be potentially very bad and require hospital NICU stay. Be courteous and respectful to mother and baby and do not visit for any reason even if you’re dying to hold that new baby. Practicing precaution goes a long way in preventing the spread of an illness to a baby that can’t handle it.
