10. Make Your Baseboards Dust-Resistant
Skip the special rags or polish and dust with dryer sheets instead. Baseboards are hair/lint/dust magnets due to the static that builds up. Dryer sheets not only collect the existing dust, but they also put down a static-resistant coat to help keep your baseboards cleaner longer.
11. Streak-Free Mirrors
If microfiber cloths aren’t in your cleaning arsenal, they should be. They’re versatile, reusable, reliable and will revolutionize how you clean the bathroom mirror.
The process is simple:
- Spritz a bit of water onto the microfiber cloth. The goal is to get it barely damp, not soaking wet.
- Wipe down your mirror.
- You’re done.
12. Get the Most Out of Your Vacuum
Your vacuum cleaner is meant to do more than clean your floors. The crevice tool and upholstery brush aren’t just there for looks. Start putting them to work. Use the tools to clean inside drawers and cabinets. Use the upholstery brush on curtains. Use the crevice tool between couch cushions. If your vacuum has a mini-carpet attachment (usually meant for stairs), use it the next time you’re cleaning out your car — it will work wonders.
A deep clean doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank. It’s just looking at the tools you have with a fresh eye, an imagination and a little bit of online research.
