
4. Talk Time With Mommy Or Daddy
Instead of reading books before bed, you could simply talk with your child. This would probably work best with an older child who can talk with you, but you could also talk to a younger baby, even though they can’t respond. Talking to babies is great for their minds, so there’s no harm in trying this one out. With an older child bed time would be the perfect time to ask them about their day, how they felt during the day, what their favorite part of the day was, what was hard for them that day, as well as time for you to tell them what you love most about them, what you appreciated that they did that day, and so on. It could be a great tradition that keeps you and your child’s relationship close and personal. It can also help them get things off of their mind so they truly can relax for a great night’s sleep.
