2. Check in with Your Boss
Many employers require regular contact throughout your maternity leave. I personally had to send in paperwork every two weeks, notifying them I was still using my maternity leave and what my anticipated return date would be. Even if you want to put as much distance between your work and you during your leave, it’s not a bad idea to talk to your boss and get their expectations about your job duties when you come back. They may have you on a new project or working with a new co-worker. The less surprises there are, the easier the transition back to working will be.
