Starting school can bring a whole mix of emotions for children. They can feel excited, scared, nervous, anxious and so much more. This may cause them to be a little apprehensive about starting the new school year. In order to help get them excited and make them feel more calm about starting school, you can do a few things that will make this time of year more special. We have 9 great ideas to help your kiddos get excited about the first day of school.

1. Fashion Show

One of the best parts about going back to school for kids is all the new clothes they get. In order to get them excited about going back to school, let them put on a fashion show with all their new clothes. Have them model all the clothes for the rest of the family. Cheer and encourage them by telling them how awesome and adorable they look. It’ll boost their confidence and make them excited about all the reactions they’ll get from other kids when they go back to school and wear their new clothes.

2. Celebrate School Year’s Eve

We’ve all heard of Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, so why not start a holiday of your own and have School Year’s Eve? Make it a fun night for your kids where you play games, have a dance party, maybe even open up special back to school presents, etc. You can decorate the house with balloons and streamers, wear party hats, and have a grand old time as you party together to kick off the new school year.

3. First Day Of School Breakfast

To get your kids extra excited the morning of their first day of school, make them a special breakfast. Make them their favorite breakfast food whether it’s cinnamon rolls, pancakes, or waffles. It’ll put them in a good for their first day not to mention fill up their tummies and ensure they have a hearty breakfast. It is, after all, the most important meal of the day.
