4. Back To School Dinner
If having a special first day of school breakfast is too much for you when you’ve got a million other things going on that morning, have a back to school dinner instead. You can make your kid’s favorite food for dinner, or you could even go out to their favorite restaurant. This will allow you all to talk about how their first day of school went and what they are excited about for the rest of the year. The whole experience will be a real treat and something that they’ll look forward to every year.

5. First Day Of School Interview
A fun way to remember your child each year as they start a new school year is to conduct the first day of school interview. Ask them the same questions each year as they start a new school year to see how they change and grow over the years. Keep them in a special place and when they get older you can read them together and laugh and reminisce on all the good memories from their childhood. To make it even easier on you, you can download the free printable here.

6. Back To School Fairy
Kids love the gifts they receive from the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and the Tooth Fairy, so why not get them excited about starting school and create the Back To School Fairy? She can come the night before the first day of school so when they wake up on the first day they have new gifts to open. They can be practical gifts the kids will need like school supplies. Kids love any kind of gifts, so they’ll love waking up on the first day of school and seeing what the Back To School Fairy brought them. If that doesn’t get them excited about the first day of school, I don’t know what will.
