5. Stop Pumping Your Mascara Wand
Your mom probably taught you to pump your mascara want to get a good coat on the brush, but we’ve since learned this introduces too much air into the tube, resulting in the product drying out faster and causing clumps. Instead, wiggle your wand while it’s still in the tube, back and forth (as opposed to up and down) and then remove for application.

7. Use A Spoon To Prevent Over Application
When you’re in a hurry, there’s nothing worse than messing up mascara and having to wipe it off. You always end up making it worse! Try using a plastic spoon under your bottom lashes to catch near misses, and to help apply a thicker coat! You can toss the spoon, or rinse and use over and over again.
