4. Visit A Splash Pad
Lots of cities have splash pads that are free or even really inexpensive to visit. If there’s not one in your city, check the neighboring cities as they might have one instead. I love taking my son to splash pads because he has a ton of fun, it cools him off in the heat, and I don’t have to worry too much about him since there’s nothing to climb on like a regular park.
5. Have A Picnic
Instead of having lunch or dinner at home, pack up your food and take it to the park to eat. Your kiddos will love this because after they’re done eating they can run around and play games, or, if you’re near a playground, they can play there. It’ll be a nice break from the regular every day usual routine of eating at home.
6. Run In The Sprinklers
A really easy, fun, and free thing for the kids to do in the summer is to run in the sprinklers while you’re watering your lawn and plants. This is especially fun if you don’t have a pool to cool off in. It gives the kids a chance to play in the water in your own backyard where you can watch and supervise them.
