5. Don’t Overdress
My husband is always terrified my daughter will wake up freezing the night (as if we know what “freezing” is in Southern California) and puts her in a fleece sleep sack no matter what. But research actually shows toddlers sleep best around 68 degrees and in light layers. Be careful not to pile on the blankets or clothes, your child could wake up because of being overheated and then have a difficult time getting back to sleep. Besides, babies and toddlers are naturally sweaty when they sleep- don’t make it worse!
