8. Cornbread

Some dishes for Thanksgiving are geographically specific, like cornbread. Cornbread was a Native American food that could have been present at the first Thanksgiving, at least in some form. Most likely, this food made it’s way to our tables by way of the early slaves who baked mashed up corn quite regularly.
