9. Apple Cider
Apple cider originated in the early 1800s from America’s apple orchards and it quickly became one of the most popular drinks. It is estimated that an average of 35 gallons per person was consumed per year! Even still, apple trees were not around for the first Thanksgiving as no apple trees existed in America at that time. It was not until the late 17th century that apples were brought from England to the New World.
